Project SR E30: Part 1 – Test Fitting the Engine
The manifold is definitely still very close to the brake master, and will require extensive heat shielding, but the engine now fits!
Check out that shifter hole fitment! It’s so close, maybe we’ll get away with not cutting it.

It’s actually quite surprising how well an SR20 fits in an E30- once you overcome the brake booster issues, that is. The front subframe just barely manages to clear the oil pan, and the shifter hole aligns just about perfect.

We’re quite excited to see how this project turns out. The end goal is just to have a comfortable daily that makes chu-chu noises, so we’re not planning on going crazy with the build. We will be keeping AC and heater however, so that should make things more complicated.
