At lunchtime, the track is reconfigured to an 800m length, giving the bigger power cars more of an opportunity to stretch their legs and gather some testing data for next day’s main event.
Some cars start to run out of revs and gears – maxxing out their capabilities, whilst others struggle to keep their cars in a straight line as they keep their foot buried past the ½ mile.

 

Subaru has had a long standing band of followers of the WRX series, and at Racewars this was no exception. This very tidy GC8 proved quick over the shorter distances.

 

This R32 GTR in classic HKS Drag livery was a fan favorite – the license plate may give away what’s under the bonnet…

 

The Reaper Performance diesel Colorado enjoyed rolling coal at any opportunity.

 

In the pits

Pit lane always provides some interesting finds.

 

Like this E92 M3 – lowered to the weeds and rolling on a gorgeous set of JDM Work Meisters.

 

Only 250 worldwide and 10 for Australia, the open top Jaguar Project 7 packs 423kw from a supercharged 5L V8 and ran a lot of passes over the weekend.

 

Spectators are allowed to walk around the pits for a closer look – fan interaction plays a big part at Racewars.
