Racewars 2018- Top Speed Racing Done the Australian Way!

,

Pedaling 1500hp at 250km/hr is no mean feat.

Skids on the burnout pad were actively encouraged by Racewars organizer, Jamie, to uhhh… warm the tyres…

Now entrants start to get serious.
800m runs come and go, with a few breakages, and some of the big hitters start to participate.

Jose Jardim in the ITP Supra completed some test runs, and had a big off at mid-track, which closed the track temporarily, but thankfully no damage to driver or car.

A serious look for a serious car, the ITP Supra is a force to be reckoned with.

This car is a weapon. A 3.28L stroked 2JZ using Nitto billet crank, custom cams and headwork in tandem with Hypertune intake manifold and huge injectors produces more than 1100hp thanks to a Precision Pro Mod 88mm turbo. Backing this is a 2-speed Powerglide transmission and 9” Diff. The parachute isn’t just for show….

A quick nitrous purge before a run – incredibly the car only uses the N2O to get the huge turbo spooled on the start line.

Eddy Tassone in the Active Automotive’s Holden GTO also made some shakedown passes – what may be more impressive is that he’s back after a vicious rollover at a past event, but never one to back away from a challenge there was no way he could sit this out.
