This is the super rusty cat bolt that snapped when we tried to remove it.
It's a little hard to see in this shot but the cat bolts were brown with rust and totally seized. Porsche needs to spec a higher quality bolt!
Once the cat bolts were removed we were able to lower the exhaust.
The stock exhaust was pretty heavy so we had to be careful and lower it with support from a tranny stand.
The Burns exhaust looks positively sleek and light compared to the stock exhaust. Although Burns says their exhaust weighs 22.5 lbs, we weighed it and found it to weigh 21 lbs on our scale. The stock exhaust weighed a tick under 41 lbs so the Burns exhaust was almost 20 lbs lighter. That's a pretty solid weight reduction for just changing the exhaust!
After bolting the downpipes to the cats, Howard bolted the saddle hangers to the OEM exhaust support then attached them to the exhaust with the supplied spring clamps. The exhaust installed in just a few minutes!
