We could also now remove the under tray.

Now the lower edge of the front bumper cover is loose.

Both front headlights were removed by removing 2 Torx screws and disconnecting the connector.

Both sides of the plastic bumper cover can now be unclipped.

In the area once covered by the headlights, there are two snap tabs. Carefully lift the tab off the bumper cover. Now the bumper cover can be removed.

For our test, we removed the grille shutters. These shutters block of airflow to the intercooler and much of the radiator when the engine is cold to speed warmup as well as when moving under light throttle loads to improve aerodynamics, presumably for less drag at cruise for better fuel economy perhaps. They must be removed to make room for the thicker Garrett intercooler and we did not want any variability in our testing so out they went. The first step was to unplug the electrical connector.

Bob, have you considered mounting the oil cooler behind the radiator like I did on Project S2000? The air coming off the radiator still has thermal availability to cool the oil. Did you see the Grand Am feature I did? They use a huge oil cooler mounted behind the radiator. Basically the oil cooler is the same size as the radiator. https://motoiq.com/trans-am-racing-with-burtin-racing/4/
