The Holley LS Fest West 2023 Tire Streets Drift Challenge

It was a close battle but Stanton advanced based on a strong follow run.

Madman Micah Diaz always puts on a show and has the machine and skill to back it up. What no one saw coming leading up to the event was former FD competitor, still wearing the bold statement on the car’s wing “This Vehicle Was Built For War”, Matt “put ‘em in a coffin” Coffman fighting tooth and nail and taking his spot in the next round of competition.

The guys pushed hard but Diaz overotated in his chase run giving Coffman the win to the final 4.

Deemed “The King of Long Beach” after an insane week of victories at Formula D’s season opener, “RCP” Rome Charpentier fought past Evan Bogovich in a BMW E46 borrowed from Sorensen Motorsports and right into the Top 8. Matt Coffman stopped his run though by beating him out to a spot on the final 4.

To call this final battle a barn burner is an understatement. Nothing shy of 10/10ths exists in either Hobson’s or Coffman’s driving style. After both drivers lead and followed one another, blow for blow, the judges had a winner.

Ben Hobson made it a perfect event securing the #1 spot with Matt Coffman in a close 2nd place followed by Odi Bakchis rounding up the podium in 3rd. In doing so, these top-tier competitors earned their signature Drift Challenge Trophy Steering Wheels from Grip Royal along with an array of cash and prizes from Holley, Tire Streets, Simpson Race Products, Kansei Wheels, and Fortune Auto!
