Victoria Day Speedfest

Before that we'll take a look at the Canadian Touring Car Championship and some of the cars that wheeled their way around the course – many of the front wheel drive cars three-wheeling all the way through turn 10.

Mustang, Porsche, Subaru, Honda, Mini, Mazda … the variety of cars in the CTCC races was incredible and a joy to see RWD vs FWD vs AWD.

Martin Crisp leading into turn three in his #10 Mazda Miata. Martin won the Touring Class both days. Martin and I competed together in Ontario Time Attack. At that time he was racing a Nissan 370Z.

Marc-Andre Bergeron pushing the #22 Mazda RX-8 around the course. This car was built by friends of mine. Charles Spivak is the team manager, Joe Ferguson built the engine, and Sasha Anis tuned the car. They captured their first top five finish.

Another car I was cheering on was Kyle Tasker in the #17 Simone Performance Hyundai Tiburon – the crew chief is my very good friend Vic Simone.

#74 Glenn Chaplin took victory on Saturday and second on Sunday in the GT class with his Mustang 302. Right behind him is the #95 Porsche 911 raced by Ian Crerar who took second and third in both races. Sunday's race was won by Pascal Carré in his BMW M3.

Mathieu Audette took his #12 Acura RSX Type S to victory in both Saturday and Sunday's races in the Super Touring class. Gary Kwok took second on Saturday and Roger Ledoux took second on Sunday.
