This is the EGR system. It appears to use an electric actuator to open and close this valve, but I don’t know what flow exactly it’s controlling; I think it might be coolant to the EGR cooler. After going through the EGR cooler, the EGR flow goes through the little tube with bellows joint to the plastic intake manifold.
This Volvo Polestar V60 wagon would make for a fun daily driver.
Hidden under the cover is a 2.0L 4-cylinder twin-charged engine cranking out 362hp@6000rpm and 347 lb-ft @3100-5100rpm. That’s really solid torque and power out of a 2.0L from the factory.
The only thing really visible was this little pump. I would guess it is for coolant.
The one other easily visible thing is this chassis brace.
