Let's close out the IndyCar NEV section with this rear end shot. Lots of aero prioritization going on here. There are a lot of position options for the top element of the rear wing. They are also channelling air over and behind the rear wheel. I would be curious for someone with more aero background than myself to tell me if the rear edge of the housing behind the tire has a 90 degree angle has an aero function orr if it is simply for fabrication rigidity?
The Nitrous Express pumpless water meth injection system eliminates the need for an electric pump. Instead, pressure from a nitrous bottle is used to drive the system and inject water methanol straight into each intake runner, providing consistent distribution across the cylinders. The system includes the pressurized reservoir, pressure regulator, billet distribution blocks, filtered nozzles, and braided stainless AN hoses. It is available for 8 cylinder engines and retails just under $1k.
Staubli was on hand to show off their pseudo pornographic fittings. 1/2 turn dry break fittings on your coolant or brake lines? Yes please! I will admit that with our projects almost none of them have a real fast pit stop or endurance type necessity but that doesn't mean that I don't want these fittings at every possible junction!
In addition to their fittings Staubli also provides motorsports level air jack and electrical disconnect systems. Here you can see the integration of the air jack setup in Peter Cunningham's World Challenge car.
We close with an exterior shot of the Real Time Racing World Challenge TSX in the Staubli booth. You can nerd out on the exterior technical details or just appreciate the simplistic beauty of a race car. After a total of about 20 hours of writing and editing time in addition to the 3 days spent at the show I am ready for something simple.
I will close the NEV with this. If you are a Nerd's Eye Viewer and have not been to the PRI show you should be encouraged to GO! It is a Nerd's paradise where you can get all of the technical details that you cannot get at SEMA. You can rest assured I will be at PRI later this year and if you cannot make it then just tune in to MIQ as we will bring you damn near the entire show.
