Out of the Meat Locker – Cameron Moore’s Formula Drift Scion FR-S

,

To funnel that clean air lower as it tumbles off the roofline, Nameless fitted up a large aluminum scoop panel. It captured, and forced the air straight to the rear-mounted radiator.

The rear-mounted radiator was a custom Fluidyne unit. Similar to the front intercooler, it was built to the exact sizing of the rear package for maximum cooling effect. Moore’s team used a set of Vibrant AN fittings for many areas of the car, including the radiator to feed back up front. What’s not shown is the Radium coolant expansion tank that was also employed, which aided the radiator itself to be 100% filled with air.

Finally out back, the radiator was fitted with a set of SPAL high performance fans, directing air from the underside of the car back up to the rows of cooling.

A revised trunk lid finishd out the bodywork, adding a little more aggressive venting to the rear. No, this wasn’t to keep Moore’s groceries at the peak of freshness. It further allowed for the tire smoke to be dumped back out, joining up with the pressure systems passing over the top of the car.

Vaporized rubber will find any means of escape. The paths of least resistance that Moore and his team created worked nicely together and produced a manicured trail in his wake for the fans.

All in the package was a menacing one, with fire in its eyes and blood practically oozing from its exaggerated bodywork. Seeing this pulling up alongside in the rear mirror surely sent a shiver up the spine of many competitors.
