Project Do It All S13, Chassis Fabrication part 3 With ZSM Customs

Here is the support plate fully welded in place.  Look how clean and OEM-like the fabrication is.

The Radium fuel cell is set in place.

Now the cover is test-fitted in place.  This is such an awesomely clean and safe job!

You can see that the fuel cell FCST is fully accessible for troubleshooting and maintenance without removing the cover. The fuel line cover will also be removable.

Here is how the fuel filler hose will be routed and covered.  It will lead to a drybreak installed where the OEM fuel filler door is located.

This is where the forward legs of the cage, the door bars, and the anti-footwell intrusion bars all merge.  The previous cage builder used a somewhat small baseplate which we didn’t feel was adequate so we stitched welded the tubes to the frame rail and wanted to add an additional gusset to tie this juncture to the floor and frame rail better.

The gusset was laser cut to the shape we wanted.

Next it was dimple die pressed for additional stiffness with less weight.
