Project E46 M3: Part 10 – Exterior upgrades for a cleaner look

,

Here’s another look at our updated lights.

To further freshen up the overall, we ordered some paint repair kits from Bavarian Autosport.  While the car already looking great as it is, some scratches and a little road rash do remind us that this car is 12 years old.  And even with just 62k miles on the clock, it’s impossible to avoid little pebbles from getting the most of our bumper.  Fortunately, Bav Auto’s solution is pretty simple to work with.  You can get its Dr. Color paint repair, or Langka repair kit, or even just order factory touch up paint.  Or, you can be like us and get all 3!

For the large, deeper chips, Bav Auto recommends the Langka Paint Chip Repair kit, which also requires the BMW factory color touch up paint.  It helps clean up the chip properly, and Bav Auto’s own Gordon Arnold has videos on their website to show you exactly how to do it.

Here is the BMW factory Titanium Silver touch paint Bav Auto also sent us to work with the Lanka PCR kit.

The whole reason for us to even consider doing any touch up work in the first place was this gash on our rear bumper.  It looks like the previous owner tried to remove something heavy from the trunk, which caught this painted portion of the bumper.  It was dark enough to notice every time I walked to the back of the car.
