Here’s another visible scratch on the center portion of the rear bumper (which has since been replaced by the Khoalty diffuser).
With the Dr. Color Chip method, it’s clearly gone!
The BMW E46 M3 is a great car but, like any other car, it’s got its quirks—and mainly aesthetically. In Part 1 you may recall we enlisted Bavarian Autosport to help us with our C-Pillar carpeting problem, which was an inherent problem with the E46. Well, with the mirrors it’s no different. Apparently these cars’ mirrors suffer from a rust problem, and Project E46 M3 was no exception.
Thankfully, Khoalty also carries new mirror glass for just $80 bucks for the set.
We were also thankful to learn that removing the glass is a fairly easy process—it’s as simple as putting in a screwdriver, pressing the tab on the bottom to the right, and then wiggling the glass off.
Unfortunately, our mirror glass had an adhesive on it, making it a pain to get off. The short version of the story is that we destroyed the glass getting it off.
