The differences between the manifolds are more obvious when they are seen side by side.
Look at the sharp entrance angle to the turbine housing on the stock manifold.
With the turbo positioned between the block and the firewall, it is a bit harder to work on the EVO X compared to earlier EVOs.  A lift really helps because you can get unimpeded access to the lower bolts and exhaust manifold.
