Project Focus ST – Working on the basics with Eibach, Falken Tires, Rotiform and KW Suspension

,

The front suspension of the Focus ST is reminiscent of the VW Golf.  The subframe blocks everything and you have to unbolt it and lower it to change the front antisway bar.  This makes the installation more difficult than normal, again just like a Golf.

The front crossmember is unbolted and lowered while supported with a transmission jack.  Now we have access to the front swaybar.

The Eibach front bar is 2mm larger than the stock front bar.  This gives it around 70% greater stiffness than stock.

Howard does the standard MotoIQ trick of wrapping teflon tape under the bar's bushings.  This eliminates squeaks and reduces bind.

Howard lubes the Eibach urethane bushings with moly based grease.

The front bar is bolted back to the front crossmember.

The rear bar is much larger than stock.  It is 3mm thicker and over 100% stiffer.
