Project Focus ST – Working on the basics with Eibach, Falken Tires, Rotiform and KW Suspension

,

Removing the rear springs is a little more difficult than normal.  The lower control arm must be supported, we used a tranny jack to compress the spring while the rear shock was unbolted.

After the shock is removed, the lower control arm can be lowered and the spring removed.

The KW rear shock is much shorter than stock to allow for a lower ride height while keeping a good amount of wheel travel.

This is the upper shock mount.  The rubber bushing like all on the bushings on the Focus ST, is pretty stiff.  For the sake of decent NVH we are retaining the stock parts here instead of using pillow ball mounts.

Assembly is the opposite of taking apart.  Jack up the control arm to compress the spring until you can slip the lower shock mount in place.

The rear shock and spring are now in place!
