Project V8 RX-7: Part 17 – Eimer Engineering Arms, Wheel Spacers and the Hunt for Perfect Stance

,

The lower control arm has this double shear integrated boss for the sway bar and shock mounts. The outer pivot is a rod end so we can adjust camber and track width.

The threaded stub for the rod end is welded securely into the lower control arm both internally and externally.

The inner pivots on the FD lower control arms are on large solid eccentrics that allow a lot of adjustment for camber and caster. So for the lower arm we opted to use Aurora spherical bearings, as they are ultimately stronger.

We decided not to have the holes in the final upper arm since their thin cross section might have been weakened, and we didn’t think the weight trade off was worth it.

The Aurora rod ends in the upper control arms will allow rough adjustment of caster, camber and track width up top.

An Aurora Spherical bearing and a 5/8″ bolt replace the upper control arms ball joint.
