Another guy and I were brainstorming as to the purpose of the brass looking cylinder with the copper tube going to the fuel tank of the 1919 LaBestioni.  We think it was a pump to pressurize the fuel tank.  Oh yeah, get your MotoIQ Nerd Alliance t-shirt.

 

Big gears and chains transfer the torque.  Considering the 14L engine displacement, I bet it’s sizeable torque even for an engine almost 100 years old in design.

 

Hmm….. There’s a magneto switch in the middle.  Anyone knows how to drive this thing?  At least it still has three pedals.

 

And a bunch of levers.
