Team America World Time Attack – ARK Design’s BNR32 Skyline GT-R Part 7

,

We decided to do an innovative single turbo system.  Since our big EFR turbo weighs over 30 lbs we decided to mount it inside the car where the passenger's legs would be.  This would give us better weight distribution with a lower CG and improve packaging so we could have better aero and cleaner ducting up front.  We could also make the crossover pipes pretty short and compact.
We started off with a pair of used DC Sports headers that Eric had sitting around and modified them with these Vibrant elbows and V-Band flanges to attach to the crossover pipe.
Here Peter tacks up the crossover pipe.  All of our stainless tubing and V-Band clamps were provided to us by Vibrant. Notice the the smooth sweeping large radius bends for minimal back pressure.
Our crossover pipe is fabricated from 304 stainless tubing by Vibrant.  Vibrant also supplied the V-Bands and bellows.
Meanwhile Katsu and Tyler continue to dress the engine.
Check out the adaptor for the driveshaft from the transfer case to the front diff. Eric designed it, but he beefed so Gary had to fix it up some.
