Re-installing a vertical/integral link is a little more difficult than removing it. Because the integral link design resists rotational movement of the hub, a pry bar is needed to ‘clock’ the hub back into position for the new vertical link to be bolted in.
With the Steeda Billet Vertical Link installed, we turned our attention to the subframe bushings. Steeda recommends installing their subframe inserts one side at a time to keep the subframe attached to the car, and to reduce movement of the subframe.
Check out Steeda’s video that clearly shows the movement of not only the subframe, which torques rearward on throttle, then rocks forward aggressively when off throttle, but the vertical movement of the differential bolts in the bushing is equally as substantial!
The font subframe bushings are captive with the chassis on the top side, and a subframe brace on the bottom side.
We unbolted the lower brace and were ready to install the inserts.
