The Rest of the Engine for Project WRX

An IAG V2 Timing Belt Guide is going to be used. The guide helps prevent throwing a belt and is installed over the oil pump drive gear.

To assure our engine always has a good supply of oil, we are going to be using Killer B’s high-performance cast oil pan.  The Killer B pan holds 6 quarts, 40% more than stock.

Anti slosh baffles help prevent oil starvation under high G cornering, acceleration, and braking.  The baffles are tig welded in place so they will not come loose.

There are two different ports for oil drains, OEM threaded or 1/2″ NPT. You can have a drain and possibly an oil temperature sensor port with an adaptor.

We will also be using Killer B’s Motorsport Baffle/Windage Tray. The baffle uses directional louvers to prevent oil in the pan from splash/sloshing into the crank. The baffle’s low profile design controls windage and strips oil from the crank immediately to reduce oil “roping” and drag on the crank.

The baffle has improved oil entry to the pan/pickup to speed oil return to help prevent oil starvation.  The rear section of the baffle is raised to prevent oil from sloshing into the crank under hard acceleration and aggressive shifts. The baffle profile is contoured to the inside of the block to minimize oil returning from the heads interfering with the crank.  The baffle is made from stainless steel for long life, durability, and corrosion resistance.

  1. I’m surprised that your high-mileage S20 heads were rebuildable. No cracking in the spark plug thread area?

  2. Love the cam choice. I definitely feel like these motors are often undercammed given their displacement. Where are you looking for the powerband to be?

      1. Im from Europe and I would like to rebuild 2.0 turbo 130kw (EJ205) Forester SG motor. Is it possible to have any consultations via email etc ?? It is not possible for me to ship my engine to USA and then back.
