And while the #52 PC PR1 Motorsports entry started at the back of the grid for too little qualifying time, they charged up to second for a podium spot in the race.

The track continued to improve as each qualifying group pushed more and more of the water off the track, but still not enough to allow the teams to get a clean run. The track is well laid out and the rain ran away from the track quickly, with little standing water. The qualifying lap times for all of the classes were a good 10-15 seconds off of their pace in the dry, and just about everyone locked up the brakes going into the hairpin at turn twelve after running down the long straight from turn 11. Several teams had to start at the back of the pack for failing to run enough qualifying time when they chose to run only a lap or two in the inclement weather.

While it looks like Dyson is off to take the lead in turn 1…
Turn 1 is very technical and blind. You have to commit without seeing the apex. The Muscle Milk car had a better line by taking a late apex and by turn 2 is taking the lead in the lower left. The Dyson Lola went for the early apex and paid for it with a loss in speed headed towards turn 2.
