Building the FR-S FA20 with Stay Crushing: Installing the Engine and Making Big Power!

,

The DC header fits perfectly with ample clearance around the oil pan.  The DC header looks beautiful!

The FA20 is plagued by high oil temps on the track which can cause limp mode in a forced induction track driven car in just a few laps. To counter this, we used a Jackson Racing high capacity radiator with an integrated oil to water oil cooler.

The Jackson Racing radiator is a high-quality unit made of tig welded aluminum.  No weak crimped on plastic end tanks. The oil cooler hose bibs are A/N so the lines can be leak free and secure.

The oil cooler comes with an oil filter sandwich adapter and high-quality crimped lines with AN fittings. The Jackson kit also comes with a quality high pressure 1.5 bar cap.

To improve reliability, we replaced the stock rubber hoses with heavy-duty 4-ply silicone ones by HPS.

The HPS hoses are molded to mimic the factory hoses for a perfect fit. We also used HPS’s hose clamps with sold stamped straps and rounded edges that do not cut into the hoses when tightened.

We use an ARK Design dual exhaust system. In our previous testing, this exhaust made great power, had a perfect fit and was quiet.

The ARK Design exhaust was beautifully constructed of flawlessly polished 304 stainless with perfect tig welds. We have been really impressed with the fit and construction quality of ARK Design exhausts.

Check out our ARK Design 86 exhaust shootout!
