Formula Drift 2013 Round 4: Wall Speedway

,

Nishida vs Hosford

Robbie Nishida in the Achilles Radial Lexus SC430 would move past the K-Sport Nissan 350Z of Corey Hosford. Nishida has been looking very good since Florida and continued to look more comfortable in the SC430.

Moen vs Bakchis

Kenny Moen in the Lutz Performance Nissan 350Z would lose to Odi Bakchis in the US Air Force/Nexen Tire Nissan 240SX. Odi was also driving with a broken pinky finger and secured it with a popsicle stick-duct tape brace as he drove.

 Dai vs Aasbo

Daijiro Yoshihara in the Discount Tire/Falken Tire Nissan 240SX continued his downward spiral of a season by getting defeated by Fredric Aasbo in the Hankook Tire/Motegi Racing Scion tC. Aasbo is another driver looking better and better with each round of the Formula Drift 2013 season.

Taka vs Saito

Jhonnattan Castro in the Banco del Progresso/Hankook Tire Nissan 350Z would be defeated by the Giant Killer Matt Field in the CX Racing/Maxxis Tires Nissan 240SX. Daigo Saito in the Achilles Radial Lexus SC430 would defeat the Flying 86 of Megan Racing/Hankook Tires Toyota Corolla of Taka Aono. The power and speed of the 2JZ powered Lexus was just too much for the tiny chassis, which has nearly half of Daigo’s horsepower.

Vaughn Gitting Jr tire debeading

The final Top 32 battle would be between Greddy Racing/Hankook Tires Scion FR-S driver Ken Gushi and Monster Energy/Nitto Tires Ford Mustang driver Vaughn Gittin, Jr. So far Ken Gushi has had an up and down year similar to 2012. Gushi and Vaughn would go One More Time as Gittin’s driver’s rear Nitto tire would debead and cause Vaughn to have a poor run.

Ken Gushi vs Gittin

This was the end of the upswing for Gushi and he took a down as he climbed up the bank and straightened out. Vaughn Gittin, Jr. would move on to face the guy that he hit in Florida enough to knock off his door and tear up his suspension, Daigo Saito.
