One-way trap doors are placed in the vertical baffles so that oil can flow into the center of the pan but not out of the area. This is another step to help keep the oil around the pump pickup under g-loads. The Canton pan holds one and a half more quarts of oil as well.
The first step in installing the pan is to drain the oil.
Next, a cross-member on the chassis must be removed so the pack can be removed from the car.
Then the AC compressor bracket has to be unbolted from the stock pan.
One bolt for the AC compressor bracket can only be reached from the top.
Next two bolts holding the pan to the transmission bell housing have to be removed.
