The sending unit plug in place in the pan.
We also applied Teflon tape to the temperature sending unit.
The sending unit was then screwed into the plug.
The sending unit wire was run to the oil temp gauge.
We filled the replacement filter up with oil before installing it, this helps to make sure that the engine gets oil sooner when it is cranking to start for the first time after completely draining the engine.
We filled the sump with 6 quarts of oil. Actually when you include our oil cooler our system hold almost 7 quarts of oil up from the stock 5 quarts.
Now with our anti-slosh baffled, higher capacity Canton oil pan we have great assurance that our bearings will not starve for oil until we reach dry sump levels of G’s. Stay tuned we will be installing a full set of Autometer gauges in our car next so we can monitor things a lot more accurately than the stock gauges which only give you a rough estimate of the engines parameters!
