We bolted on the AC compressor bracket before putting the pan back in place.
Now the pan can go back in place.

The pan was bolted on around its perimeter in a cross pattern to assure even torque for best sealing. Do not overtorque or use power tools as the pan rail can get warped and leak oil.
The stock pan had an extension going to the transmission bellhousing but the Canton pan does not attach to the transmission at all. Canton does provide an aluminum dust cover to fill the gap left by the stock pan. Here Howard installs the dust cover.
Since we are going to install a whole group of Autometer gauges next we installed the oil temperature sending unit in the pan. We started by applying Teflon tape to the sending unit plug adaptor.
