PRI 2015: Part 5

…while these are similar VAC trannies, only for BMW E36/E46 (left) and E30 (right). We could use one of these in our own Project E46 BMW M3!

Here’s another VAC Motorsport dog box five-speed sequential transmission for the Mitsubishi EVO IX. Check the shift levers on these suckers, which don't even fit in the picture.

These are VAC’s carbon driveshafts for both the E46 and E92 BMW platforms.

Stroker kits are popular in the BMW world, thanks to VAC. Here is a 4.4-liter stroker crank for the S65 BMW M3 V8 so you can have the displacement of the E92 BMW GTS! Of my 16 years in the automotive industry, I’ll still never forget my favorite drive, which occurred in a 630bhp G-Power supercharged 4.4-liter BMW GTS in Germany, which of course was unbelievable.

For the E36 BMW, here’s a crankshaft that brings the displacement up to an impressive 3.5-liters. I’ve been in 3.0-, 3.2- and 3.5-liter supercharged E36 BMW M3s, and believe me that extra displacement really makes a difference in a supercharged or naturally aspirated BMW.

If you’re lucky enough to already own an E30 M3, but are yearning for more power, this 2.7-liter crank gives an 8% bump in displacement over the already hallowed BMW E30 Evolution that never made it stateside (except now we’ve go the 25-year import rule so import away! I mean here…import it here…nevermind).
