Project Corvette Stingray C7 Z51: Body Modification

Next, the belly pan that goes with the splitter is installed.

The belly pan in place with the front side diffusers helps the splitter make a significant contribution to front downforce.

Next, it was time to test fit the side skirts.

The bottom of the side skirt is secured with rivets, so we had to drill holes in the bottom of the rocker panel for the rivets.

We had to care not to drill too deep, only through the outer layer of the rocker panel. To prevent any chance of drilling too deep, Howard put a socket over the drill bit to prevent from drilling through too far.

Howard measures and adjusts the amount of the drill protruding from the socket to the right amount recommended in the instructions.

Now, Howard drills holes through side skirts into the bottom of the rocker panel.

  1. Hey Mike, thanks for the putting this build together. Just picked up a 2015 Z51 Stingray LT3 and looking to improve it. If you guys have a build sheet / part numbers / links / etc, please share. Thanks much.
