We cleaned out the sound insulation and seam sealer out of the car using a wire wheel.
We also removed the windows and removed the window sealer. The car was starting to rust here so it was a good thing we did this.
A Scotchbright wheel was used to remove the window sealer and rust from the window area. We are going to replace the glass with Lexan for safety.
All of the sealer and rust were removed. These areas are going to be touched up with zinc chromate primer after fabrication.

Looks like a good starting point – I looked through a couple of the earlier articles on this project and couldn’t find the info, what’s the history of the chassis?

It was a friends track car that was sitting for 10 years.
Cool that you’re bringing it back to life again! Hopefully there aren’t more surprises like the gas tank lurking.
