Here is the passenger side foot intrusion bar.
The bars go through the firewall and are welded to the plate on the shock tower.
In the upper shock tower areas, the factory spot welds were few and far between and the flex of normal use was already causing some of the parts to separate. To combat this, Zach spot-welded these parts together. We are not sure why Nissan didn’t put many spot welds here but up a ton of spot welds on nonstructural parts!
We are going to reinforce the tired metal with these gussets. We got this idea from the chassis of the S15.

Looks like a good starting point – I looked through a couple of the earlier articles on this project and couldn’t find the info, what’s the history of the chassis?

It was a friends track car that was sitting for 10 years.
