Project GD STI – Improving the Fuel System with Injector Dynamics and Other Details

,

Howard welds the plugs to the throttle bodies.
The next step is to port out the divider.
The top throttle body has the divider, the bottom is the finished ported part.
We install the ID1000 injectors and fuel rails to the TGV housings and get ready to reassemble everything.
You can see the mess under the manifold.  There is a lot of stuff going on and it’s all cramped and tightly packed. You have to work slowly and carefully.  Don’t pinch hoses or wires and make sure nothing is rubbing on something sharp and everything is routed smoothly and has enough strain relief.  A Subaru is a bitch to work on in many areas and this is one of them!  At this time we spliced the ID plugs onto the stock injector plugs.  Unfortunately, the stock harness was a bit short so we had to unwrap it partially and redo it to make more slack.  Nothing is easy!
Even in this picture it is hard to judge how much less restrictive the Perrin part is over stock.  We bet it flows 30% more.
