Wow, that is a pretty impressive looking front brake!
The new Stoptech brakes have about 50% more capacity than the already generous Brembo stock brakes.
We had to disassemble the rear upright when installing the rear suspension so the brake had come off at this time as well.
The Stoptech STR-40 caliper is huge and the bads have way more surface area than the Porsche Brembo caliper.
The rear Stoptech Aerorotor dwarfs the stock rear rotor. There is a lot more swept area and thermal mass to dissipate the heat. The factory drilled rotors will be prone to cracking under hard track use so the slotted Stoptech rotors will not have the issue.
As side profile view shows how much thicker the Stoptech Aerorotor is than stock and how much more venting it has.

Can’t wait to see a review once this hits the track!
Hi – Allan from Denmark here.
Regarding your “Project Porsche 987.2 Cayman S: Making Awesome Brakes More Awesome with Stoptech!”
We are planning to mount exact same StopTech brake kits on a Cayman R (987.2 – 2012)
Could I get you to inform me the exact StopTech type numbers on all parts used for this conversion?
My supplier of StopTech parts have informed that StopTech only have these two kits for the Cayman 987.2 : Front 83.788.6700.xx / Rear 83.799.0046.xx and these are NOT the same as you have mounted.
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Allan Boegh-Petersen
I need these for my 2015 Cayman S.
