Good grounds are important.

All of the circuit grounds in the engine bay are terminating at the same point. Recall this was a design decision to help minimize ground loops. Make sure that you scrape off all paint and gunk before attaching grounds. If you experience erratic circuit behavior (like a light bulb that won’t light), you might just have a bad ground. Ask us how we found out!

 

We hacked off the factory Toyota connector on the wiper motor and attached some DT pins.

The factory service manual wiring diagram colors didn’t seem to match with the wiper motor wiring colors, for whatever reason. Perhaps this was not an OEM wiper motor. Who knows. How do you figure out which wires go through the high-speed wiper motor? Trial and error and a battery, of course.

 

Close enough.

 

The factory trim panel that goes in the cowl area was drilled, cut, and trimmed so that the external cut-off switch could be made accessible in a nice way.

 

The finished product is quite nice. The red loop is clearly visible outside the car and can be easily reached in an emergency to kill the vehicle.
