Project SC300 Road Racer: Part 14 – Install it all, y’all

,

We bent up some mock routing to take to the hydraulic shop.

Here’s the final product. It was pressure tested by the hydraulic shop to several thousand PSI, so we know it will be OK for our uses. It features an M10x1 fitting for the tee, and only required a single adapter to get to 1/8 NPT.

While most of these hydraulic fittings either are thread-sealed or seat-sealed, a little teflon tape won’t hurt.

All finished and ready for wiring! The rubberized clamp also acts as a vibration reducer to help prolong the life of the sensor.

The rest of the engine bay wiring was pretty trivial. Just connect all the things to the things! You can do that, right?

After that, we wanted to do some of the cabin wiring, but we also needed to account for the GPS sensor.

The Autosport Labs RaceCapture/Pro MK2 features a 50Hz-capable GPS unit.

The GPS unit had to get mounted somewhere. Generally, you mount them on the roof. Since the GPS sensor/receiver wire has to get down into the cabin under the dashboard, it made sense to place the sensor closer to the front of the roof so that the wire routing wouldn’t be so complicated.
