Project SC300 Road Racer: Part 15 – Lay it all out

,

Then we added another.

We removed a large quantity of the outer insulation on the curly cord to expose the conductors inside. There’s an awful lot of colors in there!

We added some glueline at the base of the curly cord just to be neat and tidy.

You can also see a quantity of white wires here as well. There is a splice hidden under the glue line for the common ground. All of the white wires come out of that splice. Each button that will switch to ground will be connected to both a white wire and another colored wire. The radio button will get two colored wires.

Since there was a left and a right side bank of switches, we created two bundles of wires, neatly shrunk, to go to each side.

Tom epoxied more mounting tabs onto the steering wheel near the switches.
