Ford:
I was so impressed with last year's Ford booth. This year, not so much. The Ecoboost engine lineup was on full display but none of the “F'ing” cars (Fiesta, Focus, Fusion) seemed all that exciting. The theme was more like “big wheels” than “big power.”
On the left is the 2013 Ford Escape SE by Heide Performance Products (HPP). It uses the stock 2.0L Ecoboost-4 engine with 6 speed select shift automatic transmission but with upgraded Ford ST exhaust piping, Eibach front and rear springs, and Forgiato 20″x9″ wheels as well as HPP front and rear fascias, fender flares, and sidesills. On the right is the Kolab Agency “Life Style” Ford Escape. It uses a Synapse Engineering wastegate, CX Engineering cold air intake, and a Vibrant catback exhaust. |
The 2013 Ford Fusion SE by Ice Nine Group uses the stock 1.6L Ecoboost I-4 engine with upgraded MCE turbo piping, external blow-off valve, cold air intake and exhaust. It has a Seibon carbon fiber rear wing and Roush Industries roll cage as well as the Ice Nine Group modified strut and spring package. |
The MRT Performance Ford Fusion has the stock 2.0L turbo with 240hp. It has an Air Lift air suspension allowing the 20″x9″ Forgestar F14 wheels to tuck inside the wheel wells. The vented hood, headlights, and blue accent lighting are all MRT Performance. There is also an Alky methanol injection kit and MRT exhaust system. |
The Tjin Edition Ford Fusion SE uses a Unique Fabrication / Vibrant turbo kit with front mounted intercooler, MagnaFlow exhaust, and NX intercooler spray bar. |
This Galpin Auto Sports Focus ST is rally car inspired and decked out like a 1980's MTV pop video. | But WTF rear wing? Is this for show- or shits and giggles? |
The Bojix Focus ST is painted “Lamborghini Candy Orange Metallic” and a Bojix body kit that integrates the exhaust seamlessly into the design. |
The 2013 Ford Fusion Nascar Sprint Cup car will debut in the 2013 series. IMO, the front grill leaves a lot to be desired and gives new meaning to being all up in my grill. This particular pace car was actually raffled off to one fan, including an all expenses paid (minus any strippers or “rentals”) trip to Vegas for two. | This (UK) road legal version of the Formula Ford, 1.0L EcoBoost 3 cylinder engine is the 11th fastest road legal car to race around the Nurburgring Nordschleife race track, at 7 minutes and 22 seconds. It can go from 0-62mph in under 4 seconds and tops out at 159mph, not bad for displacement the size of a German beer. |
The Tanner Foust Focus ST includes a larger turbo and intercooler to the 2.0L GTDi EcoBoost engine. The 305hp remains under control from the KW/Tanner Foust front adjustable struts, rear springs and shocks, and Whiteline adjustable sway bars and urethane bushings. A set of 19″x8″ Motegi Tanner Foust edition wheels are wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 EVO tires with stopping power provided by Brembo 4 piston monobloc calipers and 365mm discs. |
It's been 5 years since Colin McRae passed away. The Spirit of Rally 2013 Ford Focus was built as a tribute to Colin and has a similar graphic design and color scheme as Colin's Ford Focus. This version includes Rally Innovations custom ST skid guard, mud flaps, vented hood, and WRC rear hatch spoiler as well as harness bar and shifter kit. Baja Designs supplies the 20″ LED stealth bar and 4″ Fuego halogen driving lights. |
The Mustang Cobra Jet Twin Turbo concept uses the stock 5.0L engine with dual twin Borg Warner EFR ball bearing turbos (71mm compressor wheels and 58mm lightweight titanium aluminide turbine wheels), chosen for their quick spool. The engine is beefed up with forged and anodized pistons and Grafal coated skirts, Manley H beam connecting rods, Livernois Motorsport valve springs, and ATI SFI approved crank damper. Spearco intercoolers, Aeromotive fuel system, and Trinity Motorsports Carbon Fiber air induction tube round out the build. |
