SEMA 2016: Nerd’s Eye View – Track Cars

Ken Block’s Gymkhana car is one of the most famous cars in the world. It’s probably pretty close to the GRC cars. Check out the hood vents!
The side scoops feed these beautiful carbon fiber air ducts.
And the air dumps out the ‘Hoonigan’ vent in the rear.
Our own, Billy Johnson, races this Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R-C in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series. This car is also a little battered from racing.
Brembo calipers with 2-piece rotors are on the race car though they appear to be different than the Brembo calipers and rotors equipped on the street car.
It’s not as banged up as the Honda GRC car, but it still has a few imperfections. The opening behind the mesh under the Continental Tire sticker is for the front brake ducts.
Yup, there’s the brake duct tube going from the bumper opening to the rotor.
