The Car Lovers Guide to Japan! Part Two, Non Car Stuff to Do in Tokyo and The Nissan Crossing Part 2

No trip to Tokyo is complete without a trip to the Tokyo Tower in the Kanto region.  It is known as Asia’s Eiffel Tower.  At 1092 feet, it was the tallest building in Japan until 2011, when the Tokyo Skytree surpassed it in height. The Tokyo Tower is really an antenna for TV and radio broadcasting.

One of the main sources for revenue for the Tokyo Tower is tourism and over a million people per year visit it.  There are two observatories you can go to, one about halfway up then one near the top.

At the top, you have a wonderful view of Tokyo and Tokyo bay. Wangan Midnight fans can recognize the highways and rainbow bridge authenticly depicted in the Anime series.

  1. There was a Leaf Nismo RC back in 2011, Nissan built 11 of them and brought them to promo events.

Not a fast car but at 940kg probably one of the lightest electrics outside formula E.

  2. Kabuki theatre was pretty cool. You can eat and drink in there and traditionally people heckle the actors. Nobody has the balls to nowadays though so they have speakers that they play heckling through.
