The CSF Porsche 911, a Retromodern Rocket

The front lights were LED projector conversion lights from Car-Bone Custom, but had the insides of the housings Ceracoated to match the trim on the car.

The engine is simply a fabulous work of art. The air-cooled engine features big bore cylinders from LN Engineering with 11:1 Mahle forged pistons hung on Pauter rods.  A stock longer stroke 993 crank was reworked by Castillo cranks. Castillo balanced, cross-drilled, and nitrided the crank.  A 997 GT3 dry sump oil pump is used for lubrication. The cylinder heads are 993 castings that have been fitted with larger RSR valves and ported.  Lightweight Pauter rocker arms are used. A set of custom ground camshafts were installed with titanium retainers and Aasco springs.  Kinsler ITB’s were fitted with this beautiful custom plenum that is integrated into the ITB’s velocity stacks.  A K&N filter is fitted into the plenum.  The billet deck lid hardware is by Achtungkraft.

Engine management is by Motec with an M130 tuned by Beau Brown controlling the motor.  A Motec PDM handles power distribution chores. The engine is fed via 1050cc injector dynamics injectors and an AEM Electronics fuel pump.

Here is a look at the drive-by-wire actuators that bring modern throttle control to this classic chassis.  The upper part of the manifold is held on by quick-release Wiggens clamps. BMRS fittings and Pro Gold or AR high-temperature hoses are used to plumb the engine.

The beautiful mil-spec wiring harness with done by Ryan Basseri of Rywire.   All of the colored parts of the engine are done in Ceracoat. We really think that after taking over the firearms industry, Ceracoat is going to be used more and more in the car performance industry.  The beautiful valve covers were machined from billet by Tarrett Engineering. A modern Bosch coil on plug ignition system handles the spark.

  1. Ok I have to say it…the founder of a company renown for producing industry leading radiators and cooling products owning an exquisite AIR cooled Porsche…irony?

Ok cheap shots aside, I’m not a Porsche fan but this is an amazing car!

  2. Dang, that has a lot of nice touches; I love seeing stuff where someone is detail oriented and has their own vision for how things should be.
