The CSF Porsche 911, a Retromodern Rocket

If you wonder why CSF Radiators is building an air-cooled Porsche, remember that these engines are also oil-cooled to a large extent and CSF makes awesome oil coolers.  This front-mounted oil cooler is the first of two the engine uses. The oil cooler has electric fans to assure good airflow through the cooler, even in bumper-to-bumper traffic and the unibody is cut and shaped behind it to allow a good exit airflow air path behind the cooler.

Looking up into the front wheel well, you can see the double adjustable KW Suspension front strut.  The KW classic line strut has a built-in steering arm and stub axle built into the housing.  The wheel well also has the second CSF oil cooler in the OEM location.   The CSF oil cooler is about 2x larger than stock.  The car has about 3x more oil cooling capacity than it originally did which keeps the big engine operating at safe temperatures.

Ravi collaborated with Rotaform to create these one-off 3 piece wheels.  The 17×8.5″ wheels with 28mm offset wheels are a center lock design and pay homage to Campagnolo and Fuchs wheels of the era while still looking totally modern.  The Stanceworks center lock hubs are completely unique and created for this application.  The wheels are wrapped with excellent Falken 225/40-17 RT660 rubber.  The brakes are Stoptech STR six-piston calipers squeezing 335mm rotors.  The calipers and rotor hats are custom Ceracoated to match the car’s color scheme.

The 17×11″, 10mm offset Rotaform rear wheels with 275/40-17 Falken RT660 tires are huge and surround 4-piston Stoptech calipers with 325mm rotors.

The interior of the car is pretty fantastic as well, beyond our performance-oriented comprehension.  Sparco carbon fiber SPX seats are custom upholstered by Rogelio’s auto.  Rogelio’s Auto did all of the car’s interior upholstery. The car’s interior is wrapped with Streetfighter LA fiberglass panels which have been covered in Alcantara giving the interior a modern luxurious look.  The dash, sun visors, and headliner are also covered in Alcantara.

  1. Ok I have to say it…the founder of a company renown for producing industry leading radiators and cooling products owning an exquisite AIR cooled Porsche…irony?

Ok cheap shots aside, I’m not a Porsche fan but this is an amazing car!

  2. Dang, that has a lot of nice touches; I love seeing stuff where someone is detail oriented and has their own vision for how things should be.
