Daniel had a clean lead run with a good line and decent angle with a smooth style. With a lot of power and grip, Alec maintained close proximity.
In the Lead, Alec had good line and angle with speed and Daniel had to run a shallow line to maintain proximity which did not help his points, allowing Alec to advance.
Next was the controversial battle between Youtube superstar Cleetus McFarland and top-ranked Drift League Pro-Am driver Alex Anderson. Cletus’s car packs a very respectable 700 plus whp while Alex’s car is very nearly stock!
Cletus had a decent line but not much angle or speed in his lead run which allowed Alex to be all over him in the chase. Look at that stock car go!
Alex had a strong lead although his lack of power didn’t allow for much smoke. Cleetus made an aggressive move in the first turn but had to check up which slowed him down and allowed Alex to open up a pretty large gap.
Cleetus had to play catch up and ran a shallow line to make up distance which probably didn’t help his score.

Looks like there’s about a 25% increase in Corvettes in drifting each year. Can’t blame them. Other than the transaxle being hard to work on, they’re a great paltform.
