The Controltac helps in situations where you get wrinkles, you can lift the film, restretch it and lay it back down. With old school film, you might have a mess on your hands here.

Alex uses the torch to get more tack in hard to stick areas. You have to be very careful with the torch and use it lightly or you could put a hole in the film.

Once the main part of the film is stuck down, you can pull the filament out of the cut tape to trim the panel quickly and neatly.

The cut tape goes through the film like a hot knife through butter.

Next the trimmed area of the film is pulled off.  The base tape is removed at this time as well.

The panel edges are stuck down hard with the squeegee here.
