Project GD STI, Getting Ready For the Engine Swap

The IAG oil pump has better pressure than the OEM pump and the JDM 12mm pump.

The IAG pump also flows better than the OEM pump and the JDM 12mm pump.

We did an article with more details about the pump here.

For more oil volume, better oil control, and better oil windage control we are using an IAG high volume oil pan and windage tray.  To fix the problem of the OEM oil pump pickup breaking, we are going to use a heavy-duty IAG part.  We did a video on the details of this stuff here.

We also did an article with a thorough evaluation of these parts here!

To control engine and drivetrain movement, especially with violent AWD launches and gear changes, we are going to be using, IAG’s street motor mounts, pitch stop mount, and transmission mount.

The IAG Performance Street Series Transmission Mount is designed to help reduce drivetrain movement. The mount features reasonably soft 75A durometer bushings that are slightly stiffer than the Subaru GROUP N mounts and the body of the mount is made from CNC’d solid billet aluminum. The IAG mount also features a unique flush hardware design that eliminates the need to take the mount apart to install it on the vehicle.

  1. Love all the updates, and that its all finally coming together!

One word of caution is any pitch stop mount, from the aftermarket, seems to just perfectly resonate the factory firewall.

If you have the chance getting a good CLD layer in and as high up as possible on the firewall surrounding that immediate area in-cabin, opposite the mount will make a dramatic difference in reducing NVH. If only 50% of the firewall were covered, that is enough. e.g. 4-5sqft total. Minimal weight added, but very targeted to that part. SecondSkin, Resonix, Dynamat Extreme are all good examples of quality CLD tiles that can handle heat and not put off a strong smell.

  2. Can’t wait to see this all come together. Best wishes for reliability and longevity. HP per dollar spent be damned lol

  3. Any picks of install of the COBB’s Overflow Tank and Washer Reservoir filler? I am interested in that kit and install.
