Project Porsche 987.2 Cayman S: Getting the Suspension Together! Part 1

One of the tricks we use is to put Teflon tape under the sway bar bushings. This eliminates squeaking and reduces static friction.

The Tarett Engineering front bar is mounted in place.

Now the front suspension assembly is bolted to the car.  Since we are not using the Tarett JRZ struts we could not use the Tarett sway bar mount.  We decided to use the OEM mount on the upright but we had to first shorten and re-thread the Tarett endlink on the lathe.  This worked out fine.  Then the guys at Tarett told us they had an endlink for people not using their struts.  DOH!  We should have asked first!

The front suspension is almost ready to go except for the tie rod.

The Tarett Engineering tie rod is screwed onto the steering rack.

We adjusted the spacers on the tie rod for minimal bump steer.  Now our front suspension is in place and ready for some more detail work.

Stay tuned, in our next segment of Project 987 Cayman, we will be adding details to our suspension install, some of them very cool!
