Rotary Radness, Mazdatrix’s 13B REW/MSP Hybrid!

,

Next the tension bolts are installed.  NA motors can use the stock tension bolts (top).  High powered turbo motors should use larger diameter studs like these Mazdatrix parts (bottom).
The big diameter studs need to have the rotor housings and end housings close tolerance machined to accept them.  The close fit means that the studs also keep the housings from walking around under high boost.  The big studs can also be torqued higher for more clamp and better sealing.
Kyle coats the studs with anti seize before installation.
Kyle installs and tightens the studs.  The studs are one of Mazdatrix secrets on keeping engines alive, even under high boost and nitrous like Kyle uses in Formula D competition.
The studs in place and ready for the side housing.
The side housing is lowered in place.
