Next, it was time to install the AMS pickup onto the filter assembly.
First, the seal is installed into the AMS pickup.
Now the filter is placed into the pickup and the hold-down plate is put in place over it. The hold-down plate is bolted down holding the filter snugly in place.
Next, the OEM debris magnet is placed on its peg in the AMS pan.
The filter and AMS pickup are pushed into place. The Allen bolts on the bottom of the pickup index with the bottom of the pan and hold the pickup in place.

Wouldn’t you still want baffles to help keep the oil by the pickup when you’re braking and downshifting? I don’t see the benefit of removing them are aside from a negligible increase in oil capacity.
