Howard uses the “special tool” to install the oil filter stud in its new location.
Now the oil filter can be installed in the new position. Pretty easy so far.
This is the oil filter block off plate that used to be where the oil filter is now. We ran into a small issue on ours, it was slightly hitting the bed plate and would not drop into place.
We had to remove a small amount of material on the edge of the block off plate on an apex grinder.
After the material was removed we were able to install the block off plate and bolt it down.
Here we go, a new, cleaner solution to removing the balance shafts, lots of room for our awesome Moroso oil pan and a nice factory solution for dealing with the change of oil passages in the new pump.
