Project Civic EF Racecar: Part 3 – Preparation For First MPTCC Race

,

Yannick also welded the brackets I needed for the Simpson Racing window net.  With the Sablet seat installed you can see how the door handle is operator friendly even when fully harnessed in.
Simpson racing SFI rated fire resistant cage padding throughout the length of the door bar and an outside view of the window net configuration.  Vinyl coated cable was used for the lower mounting of the net.
I Even cut tiny pieces of padding to cover as much of the cage as possible that was within reach of the driver.  Also pictured is the slick Joe's Racing window net mount and CNC'ed handle.

With most of the mechanical and safety components sorted on Project EF, the next big step was to change the exterior appearance for a much more professional, and fun look.  With less then 2 weeks until the MPTCC race, I dropped the Civic off at my friend Philip Chan's vinyl wrap shop, AeroWerkz Motorsports.

AeroWerkz is one of the top vinyl wrap shops in the greater LA area.  Located in City of Industry, its central to many different parts of Southern California.
Project EF in the last picture I took of it in its 1990 gold hue.  Rolling on my spare wheels also, it looks similar to how it was when I first picked it up months ago.
