Project MKIV Supra: Part 16 – New Body Parts and Going in for Paint!

,

Here’s the Supra back with its original hood again. It was weird seeing it all white again. It seems white (and anthracite) are the new black. Maybe it’s because Paul Walker’s Supra was white—I don’t know. It just was never my favorite color on a Supra (I like it on a 911 Turbo, however). If I wanted to fetch top dollar for the car someday, perhaps I could strip it down, pull all the carpeting and engine and re-spray it in its original white color. For now, however, I plan to enjoy it in my favorite color.

I previously had two E36 BMW M3s in BMW’s Estoril Blue, including the first one I got 21 years ago. I still simply love the color. It also looks like BMW re-released the color again in some of its more recent SUVs, 3- and 5-Series cars. I know changing the Supra's color goes against some of the more purist Supra folks’ desires but, as they say, “to each his own.” I just like the color too much and plan to keep the car for a long time.

With factory parts back on, the fitment lines are back to perfection.

Speaking of fitment lines, check out the first part of the TwinZ front spoiler, and how it fits so nicely on the factory bumper cover.

Here’s a close-up of the TwinZ rear tire air duct, which also fits very nicely.

Here’s a close-up of license plate holes that Irwin plugged up for a cleaner look.
